Forbidden City

For your personal forbidden writing pleasures, travel to The Forbidden City. This place of intrigue is filled with grand palaces, symbolism, and mystery. Visconti’s Forbidden City instrument represents this place of secrecy with a cage of pearl blue resin, a symbol for the sense of isolation and interdiction which has been connected to the city until the present. Through the cage you see the gods rendered in 24k gold over sterling silver miniatures: the Dragon, the Phoenix, the Lion, and others. The Dragon represents the Emperor and it acts as the handle of the power filler rod which is encosed in a screw-off shelter. Cage and miniatures cover a finely engraved base with oriental overlay. This real pen also has a fine 18k gold nib for your enjoyment. Limited edition of 888 pieces, each enclosed within a deeply recessed and elaborate wooden box. List price is $3250 and it is in stock.

Please e-mail me at for ordering instructions (do not e-mail me your credit card information!).
